A richly ornamental Victorian treasure, this hinged bangle in 9ct Gold centres on a crescent moon and star, alive with alternating Ruby and Diamond accents. The celestial plaque is framed by elaborate rope-twist borders, tiny granulated beads and foliate engravings, creating a beautifully layered, hand-worked look that captures the romance and symbolism of the era. The Diamonds total approximately 0.26ct, their bright scintillation playing against the warm glow of 9ct Gold, while Rubies of approximately 0.16ct add a vibrant, regal pop of colour.

MEASUREMENTS: Bangle inner circumference is 7" (18cm).
Bangle graduates from 11mm to 6mm wide.
Crescent measures 18.5mm in diameter.
2 x Central Diamonds measure 3mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.10ct combined.
2 x Diamonds measure 2mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.16ct combined.
Total Diamond weight is approx. 0.26ct.
Rubies graduate from 1.5mm to 2.5mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.16ct combined.
WEIGHT: 10.5g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Ruby (0.16ct), Diamond (0.26ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

Condition

VERY GOOD: Stones are bright with light age-related clouding to a few, with no obvious chips visible to the naked eye. The Gold shows fine surface scratches and gentle softening to high points from careful wear; settings are secure and the hinge functions well. Subtle reinforcement near the hinge is neat and stable.
